My Cup Runneth Over

Last month was my birthday. Birthdays have always been very special holidays for me. I can thank my mom for that. Each year me and each of my 6 siblings would get a birthday party to celebrate our life. These mostly consisted on neighborhood friends coming over, goofing around and then eating homemade cake (or maybe having a cake fight).

Things do change with age though. I’m finding that most birthdays are satisfactory with a day off of work and dinner that I don’t have to cook. I still insist on having a homemade birthday cake though!

This year I decided to reach out and ask for a particular gift from my friends and family. The gift I wanted was a homemade birthday card. When my birthday got closer I began to wonder if anyone remembered my post about my birthday gift and then the first card came, then the next and the next until…Holy Moses I had 21 birthday cards!!

I am still blown away by the astounding friends and family I have. That they took the time and love to hand make a card just for me. I am so extremely blessed. I’m welling up with tears just thinking about this now. I truly feel like my cup runneth over. My 32nd birthday will now surprisingly go down as one of my favorite birthdays!

I cannot help but share these awesome gems that I received. Enjoy!

I may have wet myself a little when I received this card/poster. It came with the works! A muffin, Robert Downey Jr, Hunting gear, poo, and all of the glitter. This made me so happy.

The Warm and Fuzzies This Holiday

December is my favorite month. I get to celebrate my birthday and Christmas!

I bust out my favorite Holiday Movies:

Elf, Home Alone, The Last Holiday with Queen Latifah , The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (cartoon version of course), Love Actually and The Holiday.

I get super cheesy and sing Christmas carols all the time. I just love the holiday warm and fuzzies.

Christmas lights, candy, warm socks, Christmas trees, and family. Nothing beats it.

I’ve got some great holiday cards this year and I’ve even added some gift tags.

All cards can be ordered in either the small (4.25″ x 5.5″) size or larger (5″ x 7″) size.

There is a price break with the more you order too!

Check it out:

Holiday Shows and the Magical Golden Ticket!

Black Friday is 4 days away and to me that is like the starting gun being fired to begin the holiday race for gifts.

It also marks the opening of the Blue Genie Art Bazaar an amazing month long show that will have my awesome wares available all month long!

2014 Poster

On December 6th and 7th you can find me enjoying the sunshine at my booth at the Violet Crown Art Festival.

And lastly, I am very excited to be at the Highball on December 20th for an all day event with Austin Flea.

I will have all sorts of incredible gifts for everyone! I’m especially excited about my new 2015 calendars, prints and new greeting card sets.

I am feeling extra generous this season and have come up with a fun way for everyone to have a chance at winning a FREE greeting card.

I’ve printed over 60 of these glamorous, fun Golden Tickets:

These tickets will be hidden within a random selection of greeting cards throughout the entire month of December. This includes greeting cards or greeting card sets ordered online as well!

Just like Willy Wonka, you never know if your greeting card might have this special prize inside!

Warm Hearts, Warm Bellies

As the chilly weather rolls in, I go straight to all of my fall favorites, oversized sweaters and of course comfort food.

I lucked out this season because my very talented sister in law Beka started her own business making and selling homemade low-sugar jams.

Last month I got to try some she sent me and my socks were knocked off! This was the best jam I’ve ever had and I’m a jam snob. No regular ol’ Smuckers for this gal.

I’ve been able to get my comfort food fix without all the sugar!

She told me she sweetens her jams using either local Idaho honey or organic cane sugar and she uses 75% or less sugar than the store carries. It makes sense really because fruit is sweet! Why make is sweeter?!

I love that she gathers all of the fruit she uses from her own backyard and local backyards around her town in Idaho.

I decided to join forces and help spread the word about her rockin’ jam. Here is how you can get yourself some of the best jam in the world.

Visit Backyard Kitchen on Facebook.

Buy some jam of your own on Etsy. They are only $5 a jar!

I’ve even created a Backyard Kitchen inspired greeting card that you will get FREE with any jam purchase.

On a separate note, I have gone deeper into the depths of social media and FINALLY joined Instagram!

I’m still learning the ropes of how it all works, who knows, one day I may even join Twitter! Nah, probably not.

It’s Fall Y’all

Fall is my favorite time of year. Living in Texas, our version of fall is a little different than most places. Everything is still very green and lush, no yellow and orange leaves falling here yet. I actually started my garden this month! The cold front has moved in and it’s a crisp 78 degrees. You just can’t beat it.

I also find that it’s time to start planning for the holidays, the first being Halloween. I love Halloween! Now that I have a kid, I love it even more. Not only because now I actually have a source to get candy but I can dress up really get into the spirit of this spooky holiday. I’ve created a few new Fall themed items that I’m very pleased with including these awesome new stickers! As with all of my greeting cards (and stickers too) shipping is FREE! *Click on the photo to be directed to listing for more details
